How much does cataract surgery cost?

If you are Medical Aid, surgery is covered at medical aid rates. Medical Aids only cover for a standard monofocal Intra-Ocular Lens(IOL).

If you are not on Medical Aid, surgery will cost you:

  • ± R21 000 per eye (all inclusive).

The above price includes the following:

  • standard monofocal aspheric IOL,
  • other theatre disposables,
  • theatre and day ward fees,
  • surgeons fee,
  • anaesthetic fee,
  • post op medicines on discharge,
  • A post op checks.

For premium IOL’s to work, more often than not, you need results to be fine tuned with an excimer laser. For R5000 more per eye, you can get a premium IOL. If you need excimer laser following your premium IOL cataract surgery, it will be done at NO EXTRA COST. This is a guarantee that we give you the best possible vision and benefit from your premium IOL.
